Afrihost - service is getting worse and worse!!

I am with Afrihost, and I have noticed that every single day now my internet hangs. ALOT. As I am typing here, I cant access Gmail, Youtube, but I can go on to google, and wonder oh wonder, I cant get into my clientzone at Afrihost either. I am not on a uncapped account, so I dont know why my internet keeps hanging. Certain websites hangs and its now for like 5 minutes now. I have restarted the computer, restarted my modem and still same thing applies. The speeds and hanging internet is now such an issue that I am considering moving to another ISP.
 
Well, I woke up at some ridiculous hour this morning and noticed my torrent wasn't running too well, and I could hardly access any websites. So I took the appropriate action - decided to go back to bed. 2 hours later, I wake up, everything's working. This method works 90% of the time.
I'm generally having a good experience with Afrihost, so I won't be moving.
 
my Afrihost account wasnt working late last night but its all sorted now.
yours hangs EVERY SINGLE DAY?? are you on uncapped? have you tried phoning them?
 
I had similar issues but its NOT related to ISP, instead try phoning Telkom to look at the local DSLAM, or turn your router on/off. Check your pc for antivirus.

Afrihost capped is very fast for me. I also won't be changing :)
 
hhhhmmm? I Have the occasional slow browsing experience with my ISP at night, but 95% of the time it's my line. This usaully happens when it rains. My SNR downstream drops to 5db and the line de-sync.
My advice: Check your line then your ISP.
 
No problem here also.I know gtalk was down a few times for me.
 
Afrihost , the best ISP i've used in 10 years... no problems here.
 
Ok, my internet is sorted. I have been with AH for a couple of years also, and I have always been happy with them!! Its just lately that my connection is hanging in the evenings, which is very frustrating. Last night I couldnt sleep so wanted to do some things on the internet, but couldnt. Anyhow, I did all the above, restarted router, i have MSE as well as some adaware / malware programs and all is fine on that side. I phoned telkom - they tested the line and said all is fine. Anyways, now it seems fine. If the hanging connection would just stop Id gladly stay with AH
 
I overran with 1.33Gb's. Sure, I used the data so I must pay...but I would prefer to be capped as and when, not let my internet run wild and cap me 1.33GB's after. Now if I buy more GBs I first have to cover the overrun.

I will wait till half-price GB's.
 
What is even more worrying, is that you regularly see Mweb Support people here on the forums, but I havent seen one Afrihost representative giving an explanation. Are there any AH representatives on here?
 
I have always been able to stream 720p on my (capped) afrihost account without problems. I've never had issues with them.

Used to have , then when Afrihost started uncapped and it was not as fast as expected , loads of people turned against them and attacked them, then they disappeared from here, but the respond on Hello Peter.
 
Same things happening to me on weekends with mweb, multi-threaded stuff can push on through like torrents and news but browsing and gaming is a joke. From other threads its multiple isp's

Having the same problem as the OP on some sites, usually a refresh or 5 sorts it out, irritating, but usable
