Google Nexus S set to launch in April for South Africa

Hectic, imagine a service like BIS, but includes Youtube and Google and Wikipedia :D
 
i just got my nexus s from ebay, payed hell of a lot on import taxes. Will be interesting to see how much vodacom going to charge
 
Darn thing doesn't have LED notification ... you know what that means. :wtf:

Really? I got mine from Best Buy via NYBox and it cost almost nothing to import. Shipping was quite hefty. According to the importing law that I read we shouldn't get charged for cellphones.

Elaborate? It's a slight nuisance, but not a deal breaker.
 
Good news, but I will get a friend to bring one over from the US. It'll probably still be far cheaper, and I will get it sooner.

If pricing is announced to be fair then I will reconsider... But I need to know the price first :D
 
I got mine from UK when my boss was there, 419 pounds :), and it is an awesome phone. Google have done a great job with the syncing to their services, all their own apps and the huge market.

Only downside is my battery only last for 2 days (well 25% by 2nd night) with everything, except GPS, turned on. Not a big deal to charge it every 2nd nite anyway.

Now all we need is NFC to take off for contactless payments. Who needs a wallet anyway?

There are several apps in market that you can display things on the screen, e.g. colourful dots like live wallpaper, etc. So the screen becomes the LED notification. :)

Expansys sells it for 7.4k but that is from UK, I'm sure it will be cheaper when it arrives here. Prob about 6k.
