Nah dude, you misreading me. I'm not saying technology should just be researched that target the poor, i'm just saying that technology has advanced so much, and been allowed to advance so much, yet there are people still struggling to get by day by day even in developed countries, and technology, as a commodity, is only for the minority who can afford it. Just pointing out the vast discrepancies in the world today, as sometimes people equate JUST technological advancement as the measure of human potential and achievement, whereas there are a whole other amount of factors. Essentially i'm saying that technology has a long list of benefits, but its problematic when people put all their aspirations and hopes in the technological basket...thats my view anyway. And trickle down theory just does not work in this matter. Think about it, technology nowadays is constantly advancing.
By using trickle down effect it assumes that when something first comes out( Core 2 duo) in 2006, that in two years time it will "trickle down" to the larger majority and be taken up by all. But by that time in 2008, the i7 has come out and core 2 duo, quads, become somewhat obsolete at the time. So once again, most people are behind when it comes technology and the trickle down effect...
