iPad and iPhone logging your movements: Researchers

Well after some reading I only have one issue with it:

The fact that the other applications have access to that data and can send it off bypassing Apple

You could jail break it and then you wouldn't have to worry. Maybe cydia will make a fix.

just type https://oo.apple.com/ on your iOS device (safari) and enter.
you will see opt-out massage.

"click here if you do you want us to pretend that we stop our tracking service".

no thanks. never liked ipwns and never will. i like freedom. i like to not be told what to do. i want be smelly and hug trees and smell bad. i don't want a big corporation to tell me what to do while they sit in their big corporation buildings and be all corporationy and then they make money. that's why i use android, so that google, the world's biggest internet search engine can keep all my contacts and private information safe on their servers all oer the world.

Actually... my iPad keeps losing it's memory. It keeps asking me every time I turn it on to confirm my location and iTunes account.
Then it loses it's WiFi signal and I have to reboot it.
So yeah... I'm not really worried! :D

But that is what apple users want, I really don't see the problem here.

I mean why else would you buy an apple product if you did not want an evil corporation to rule you life, decide your friends for you and track your every move?

You'd probably find that Apple have made double sure that your private information that they want from you is extra safe, unimportant things like your settings are volatile though.

Hahahahahaha... I wanted to reply to this thread earlier today but, as all you PC boys are surely aware, I had to wait for the Apple representative to clear what I was wearing today, what I could have for breakfast and, most importantly, what I could say. They needed to check my usage of Apple Inc. [AAPL], to make sure I wasn't using Apple Computers Inc. They needed to check how many times I planned to use the word Apple in my post as this would clearly require a royalty deduction from the card linked to my iTunes account.
Good news 'tho... Because of the holidays this weekend I will only be required to interact with my Apple products for 120 minutes daily and will need to spend just 30 minutes on iTunes. I'll need only visit one iStore this weekend, 'tho I will still need to wear the standard jeans and a black polo neck sweater even on the days off... They will of course be keeping tabs on me by accessing that hidden location file on my iPhone and reward/punish me accordingly on Tuesday.

PS. Yay, I've just got an e-mail from Apple... I'm allowed to go make myself a cup of coffee now... Later dudes.

haha... master troll at work I see...

you are aware that just by using a cellphone, the networks track all this info, regardless of what type of phone you are using? http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/26/business/media/26privacy.html?_r=1

but sure - lets troll

If you don't want to ge tracked you should not have a cell phone. A cell phone will always be tracked no matter who says what. Many govs even read what users write and listen in on discussions.
