Intel 510 Series 120GB SSD Hardware Review

I guess a lower price would make up for a slightly slower drive? Any prices yet?

Was also wondering about price. How does it compare to the other SSDs mentioned in the article?

Looks to priced quite similarly to the Vertex 3 120GB (R2800-R3000). The Vertex 3 looks like the better bet performance wise, but Intel are known for their SSD reliability (and in-depth firmware testing) compared to SSD drives from other manufacturers (there are some studies out there with the numbers). Based on that I'd rather pick up the Intel drive.. Anandtech had a quite thorough 120GB SSD roundup out recently and they chose the Intel drive as their pick.

I'd say this Intel drive fails badly if a G.Skill Phoenix drive outperforms it in random read & write instructions.

I really don't want to see how this drive compares with an OCZ Vertex 3 drive!

OCZ's bugged 2.06 firmware and the hardware fault in the Sandforce 2XXX 120GB reference design are making this drive look a lot more appealing.
