SA software pirate hit hard with jail and fines

Good. Vikesh is an ****.

Every sorry dealing I had as a customer of his miserable company was an unpleasant one.

You bought pirated software?

No, he was an unscrupulous businessman, in all areas of his business.

Why did you buy things from him then?

He was cheap, and I was young. (Which isn't quite as bad as it sounds lol).

Perhaps I should amend that to my one or two dealings with him, coupled with my knowledge of many other people who had to deal with his business and had bad experiences.

I bought a monitor from him, which had a problem, he 'sent it in for repairs to Jo'burg' and three weeks later I got back the same box I had dropped it off in, and clearly it had not even been opened.

This was one little part of a long saga about that stupid monitor...

Maybe it's just me... but dealing with a criminal sometimes go without the knowledge that youre dealing with a criminal? This is how crime works right?

Anyways.... awesome, these are the pirates they should put away.

Excellent! One down.

Good. See this is the bad kind of piracy, the kind that actually affects people negatively. I wish uFis and co. could see this and learn.

Edit: Oh Snap! Same time!

There is no good kind of piracy.

was found guilty of fraud and multiple contraventions of the Counterfeit Goods and Copyright Acts for selling counterfeit and unlicensed copies of Microsoft software in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Port Elizabeth on 15 June 2011.

You've got to be pretty stupid to sell counterfeit goods in a court ...

There is 2 parts to this, he was jailed for fraud not piracy. That is where the R150000 fine comes from

Anycase good to see that he got caught for selling unlawfully goods.
