Received this for my monthly allocation. I thought Telkom were doing a 9GB to 10GB upgrade?

I have about 15 Telkom accounts, and so far six have come in with the same readings.

Just received mine (5Gb account):

I also have the 20GB allocation.

However, they have not cleared the previous month's total, which means that it shows 9GB used, or a utilisation of 45% (9/20).

This is all OK, but I was capped in June, and the status is still capped so I guess that I will have no data for July !!!

Don't let Telkom bother you at 01:00 in the morning :D They will realize their mistake (eventually) and bring you "back in line".

Got excited for a millisecond, I expect they will send a correction email soon.

Mine shows also 20GB:

Please note that billing for local usage will commence only once allocated local data is exceeded. Refer to www.telkomsa.net for per GByte charges.

The combined total above indicates that you have exceeded your blended data threshold and as a result your username being transferred into our local only data pool.

What is Blended data?
Blended data is international and local data combined that accrues prior to you reaching your blended data threshold.

What is Local Only data?
Local only applies to websites hosted on servers that are located in South Africa. Please bear in mind that it is not to say that a website with .co.za is hosted on a server in South Africa since it can be hosted internationally as well. Also note that local data will only accrue after you have exceeded your blended data threshold.

Should you require full internet access at this point, you can TopUp your current username with additional Blended data at https://secure.telkomsa.net/topup

...why on earth are you guys even with Telkom??????????????????????? and still 6 accounts????????????????????????????????

I am not only with Telkom. I am also with Afrihost, Axxess, Sainet and Vox. I am not just a home user. If you understand anything about redundancy, then that is your reason.

...why on earth are you guys even with Telkom??????????????????????? and still 6 accounts????????????????????????????????

Because it works for my clients - 24/7/365. Even if I were solely a home user I would still have a Telkom account in my basket.

What are you trying to prove by using so much punctuation?

More to the topic: TI works for me, as does WA, I have no reason to move away from them.

And back to the OP's topic : My notification also says 20GB allocation, but like some of the others it shows 9GB used.

Hi all!!!
Promotion time @ Telkom, 9GB accounts up to 20GB only for the month of July/August, then back to 9GB 1 September, so enjoy!! I got the same mail stating 20GB, just confirmed with my brother, he actually upgraded to the 9GB this morning and they told him this.
Hopes this clears it up!!

I'll believe it when I see an official confirmation.

Telkom standard Caps now 20GB?

Hi,

My daily CAP report from Telkom this morning had some new info.

Normally it's listed as:

Blended Usage
A. Data Allocated (Default Package) - 9.00GB
B. Additional Requested Out Of Bundle GB - 0Bytes or [0.00GB]
C. Total TopUp Purchased - 0.00GB
D. Total Blended Data Exceeding Cap - 0Bytes or [0.00GB]
Grand Total Cap (A + B + C + D) - 9.00GB

This morning it was listed as:

Blended Usage
A. Data Allocated (Default Package) - 20.00GB
B. Additional Requested Out Of Bundle GB - 0Bytes or [0.00GB]
C. Total TopUp Purchased - 0.00GB
D. Total Blended Data Exceeding Cap - 0Bytes or [0.00GB]
Grand Total Cap (A + B + C + D) - 20.00GB

Is this a Telkom screw-up or did they enlarge their standard caps?
