Vodacom’s Fix-it network plan

"July 23 was another network dead day for some Vodacom subscribers. Maurice said a number of unrelated incidents took place that day."

Unrelated? What about the related incidents, like the iPhone users who were unable to use your network, after two weeks your technicians can't tell you that

The sad part is that Vodacom initially denied any real network problems that occurred that weekend. And now there is a whole plan to fix their network which was never broken? Does Vodacom now admit to having a vulnerable network which should be improved?

I personally think Vodacom was hit by a perfect storm when it comes to downtime (was close to unavoidable), but the mixed messages from the company is not only confusing, but also damages the reputation of Vodacom and their network.

Told you so. :)
That my friend is going to come back and bite you in the arse it seems reading the article/op.

Red and their tiresome denials and they might as well be facing a CPA or two.

Waits for the new spin on things. heck this time it might even be aliens since the other cards has been played.

The VC network never struck me as particularly broken, but OK fine by me.

That's called "pulling an Apple". Surprised they didnt tell people they were holding their phones wrong.

“We’ve subsequently installed additional links to provide an additional backup layer and also installed software upgrades to improve resilience. We’ve also had an international team of transmission experts do an audit of our network,” said Maurice.

I certainly hope that we can take Vodacom at their word that their network redundancy issues are being addressed.

HaHa, Sorry took a while... Vodacom’s Fix-it plan = Microsoft Fix-It ? (Did the Vodacom Network Blue Screen? - or maybe it was the Red screen of Death!)

Well it's going to take a while before Vodacom's customers trust them again. It used to be that first thought on no coverage was because of a faulty phone, now the first thought is the VC network is down again!

Sorting out redundancy is not enough. When are Vodacom going to take a serious look at their pricing, and how they bill their customers. We are sick and tired of being caught out by the OOB Shark, by ridiculous roaming charges, by ridiculous Bandwidth charges. Prove that the customer is first by dropping pricing, and implementing protection that kicks in when charges suddenly spiral (eg sms notifying customer about sudden increase in costs, etc).

Over to you VC, prove yourself or bleed customers!

Vodacom’s Fix-it plan

Vodacom has installed more links and hired an international team of experts to help with network problems

But hold on I thought it was just MY handset?
A fuken joke if you ask me.
So sick and tired of Vodacant
I have been bitching for months and keep getting told by Jannie its either just me or he will look into it, yeah whatever, still having dropped calls and Blackberry a bloody joke, speeds are worse than dial up

/rant off
