Telkom downtime in Northgate area explained

Hmmmmm... convenient... perhaps.. just maybe... small chance its the people who did the excavations?
 
Chetty suggested contacting Telkom through the normal reporting channels, which includes logging a fault on the Telkom website, or phoning the Telkom call centre

I remember that - also includes, phoning back, phoning back, going into the call centre to escalate - and watching them phone. SMS'ing, trying to log again, phoning again etc etc in a loop.
