Whatever your views about the Iraq war are, it has triggered something in the region. I don't know if the US and UK foresaw this. Maybe this was the plan. They knew there was no WMD, but took the risk, because they knew that Egyptians, Libyans, Syrians watching people vote in Iraq would ask the question: If they can, why can't we?
Iran has done everything to undermine Iraq democracy because they know the effect that it will have on them. They could deal with Saddam's army, but not the aspirations of their people who looking enviously at Iraq, Libya and Eqypt and are watching events unfold in Syria.
