Hi all
Cooler Master (CM) recently released the Silencio range of ATX cases, some additions to the existing Sileo range aimed at quiet computing on a relatively low budget.

The front of the case is smart and clean, and has a magnetic door which reveals 2 x 5.25" bays and a SATA HDD hot swap bay. The buttons and front panel ports are on the top, with 2 x USB2, 1 x USB3 and a card reader, among others. The power and reset buttons have a good quality feel to them and make a nice click sound.

They use sound deadening foam on the side panels, which is marketed at being able to reduce noise, apparently this is debatable though. Besides the foam, they have stuck to making the case as quiet as possible by making sure there is rubber between metal and metal/plastic throughout. The case's feet are rubber. The PSU area at the bottom has four rubber feet to rest the PSU on, the HDD rails are noise reducing, and the 2 x 120mm fans are low noise 800RPM.

Building into the case is a breeze. While slightly smaller inside than the usual CM690's and co., there is still ample room for a larger components and CPU heat sinks. The case information does say CPU heat sinks are limited to 154mm, but I successfully installed a Thermalright HR-02 Macho at 162mm. Large graphics can be installed by removing the lower HDD cage.
In this build, with Antec High Current Gamer 520watt, the PC is silent. Only noise is from the HDD.
I'm amazed at the quality and value for money the CM Silencio 550 offers.
I'd give it 10/10!
