As I'm sure most of you know its coming on Dec 15th, I missed the beta and looking for some info.

Some of the youtube videos I watched looked good, others really bad... can someone who played in the beta let me know how this game is (also what type of games you played in the past). I will mainly focus on pvp, done enough pve in wow...

Does ping play a major role in pvp? How is the ping to the EU servers?

Just looking for something new, I have played ALOT of mmo's but I need one to settle down in.
 
As I understand it ISN'T being released in South Africa any time soon.
 
I sure you can buy it from direct2drive with a phony us/eu address or get someone in the us/eu to get it for you. I will be able to get it somehow either way and I know some guys in South Africa played the beta (not many games block entire countries and if they do, can use a proxy to get around it)
 
Played it during a beta weekend. Ping was approx. 180-200 on Mweb Uncapped 1Mb according to the game's ping check. There were a couple of lag spikes. Didn't do much PvP as I only hit around level 19 on my Jedi Knight, but it didn't seem too bad.

If you're really only focusing on PvP, you're going to be missing out on a carpload of awesome stuff. Bioware game. They make decent video game stories.

It's also possible to preorder via Amazon. The client is zone neutral, so you can create characters in US / EU regardless of where you order from.

Edit: Early access, if you preordered, now starts from the 13th if you were among the first that preordered. The rest of the preorders will be staggered in between then and the release date. The game officially releases on the 20th.
