Lesotho - radio prefix 7P8, is a very rare country for other radio hams around the world to make contact with, by bouncing signals off the moon, or EME. Many radio hams around the world have spoken with South Africa (ZS/ZR/ZU) via the moon, but not many have made contact with Lesotho via the moon, which is why a group got together to setup a station in Lesotho.
They get verification cards, for making contact with different countries via the moon. And it is a race to see who can make contact with the most countries. Because Lesotho is a rare country on EME, it got tens of thousands of radio hams around the world all pointing their antennas at the moon, in the hope of making contact with Lesotho via bouncing signals off the moon.
