More than 200,000 e-toll accounts registered

This is according to SANRAL, so I wouldn't believe a word of it tbh....

Just goes to show how many stupid mutha****as there is in this country...

Would be interesting to know how many of those are company owned vehicles.

that includes the guys that buys etags for the original toll gates. They are BS'ing.

You guys enjoy your tollgates, i'll find another route.

Blatant lie, the local e-tag shop is as quite as a graveyard.

Expect a lot of propaganda coming from SANRAL in the coming weeks.

I wonder if the GPS guys have integrated this info into POI yet. It'd be nice for those of us who don't live in GP but visit now & then.

There is probably a lot of scared elderly people out there who fear that they will be charged an excessive amount unless they "go for the discount".

We need to help these people stand firm.

Everyone go home and give your grandparents a call and explain to them why they should not go this route.

Their pensions and savings in their bank account will be depleted by the thieves at SANRAL within months.
And people using fake plates will be driving at their expense.

+10 They have now resorted to sitting on the nelmapius of ramp to get some attention.

These they talk about is the e tags people bought for the other gates. And the screw ups who bough a tag. We should start a thread asking who the softies is.

I find that very hard to believe considering that I know lots of people who use the freeways and not one of them has registered for an e-tag.
Sounds like scare tactics to make the non-compliant masses feel as if they are in the minority.

basically - don't drive on a highway in Gauteng.

its unfortunately that bad :(

Or a better idea.

Drive everywhere you used to, including the highways in Gauteng and wait till you get the bill in the mail for it.. then lodge a dispute and wait...

Why not add a poll:

Question: Have you bought an e-tag?
Yes
No
Don't live in GP
