Hi

I bought the LG 3D Tv yesterday and after I did the firmware update today, I started getting this error on the HD PVR
"HDCP" on the front screen of the decoder it never did that on my previous LCD Tv. I think its a fault with the decoder maybe it is not compatible with the tv, the error comes and goes my ps3 works perfectly, What could be the problem should I return the TV or take the decoder to multichoice (I have decoder insurance).

Hi

If the PS3 or any other HDMI connected device never gives you any issue, I would assume that the DSTV decoder has the fault and check for a software update. I don't think swapping it for another decoder will help, unless you are swapping it for a different model that might not have the fault

What I found to work for me is to unplug everything, then reconnect everything back up, let the PVR load first and then switch on the TV. Don't know why this works, but its what people told me on the DSTV forum and it worked, for me at least.

After doing some research on the problem, I think there is no problem at all, you see the HD error on the pvr goes away as soon as I switch to the DSTV HDMI 1 Input (HDMI port DSTV Is Connected too), the error comes back when I use a device other then the PVR, I think the TV deactivates the HDCP on devices that are not currently in use, I also noticed that when the ps3 is off, HDMI 2 (The port the ps3 is connected too) is grayed out as soon as I switch the ps3 on HDMI 2 is not grayed out anymore and I have access to it, So all in all I dont think there is a real problem.
Unless of course its something else, Plus when I use HDMI a little Icon pops up stating that the TV is connecting it does this for 1-2 seconds and the picture shows.
It started doing this after I updated the TV to the latest firmware so I hope that this is the case
