“While the Xbox Live experiences and games always work best on the Windows platform, we understand that some Xbox fans may be using other types of devices,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Forbes.

It is a smart business decision. Even if they dominate the smartphone market, xbox users are still a relative minority to the point where it would be more beneficial to keep them happy making any choice as long as they still in the end choose xbox as their gaming platform.

Also means if the supposed nokia "superphone" slated for q3/4 2012 is a POS, I can happily buy an iPhone 5!

I can see MS supporting Apple far easier than Google.
