Government leant lessons over e-tolls

Until they have learned to stop stealing taxpayer money and do their jobs properly, government has learned nothing!

Corruption and all of that aside, the mere fact that they didn't realise cutting into people's incomes so severely without consulting them in the matter whatsoever would piss them off, just goes to show how completely out of touch the powers that be are with the plight of the average man on the street. Pathetic.

Ndebele said a “new dialogue” was needed on how to proceed with this type of tolling in future.

how about finishing the current dialogue you dipshit, sounds to me like you've learnt bugger all, maybe next week you'll realise that

Government hasn't learned squat if the "etolls" actually go ahead.

The government will, in future, proceed more carefully with the introduction of e-tolling, Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele said on Tuesday...

But they say this every time they introduce a royal stuff up. They never do learn. So this just becomes lip service and only the most gullible amongst us will give credence to this

Perhaps it's not classified as stealing, but there is certainly an extraordinary above average % of squandering, corruption and allocation to things other than that which they were intended for. Eish! :(

They're also demonstrating their inability to listen to the majority who take strong exception to etolling.

The gantries can be used for other things than etolling, such as crime-fighting initiatives like number plate recognition to find stolen and cloned vehicles.

Well they make the right noises. Lets see the right moves now too...

leant past participle, past tense of lean (Verb)
Verb:
Be in or move into a sloping position: "he leaned back in his chair".
Incline from the perpendicular and rest for support on or against (something).
Impressive. A typo on top of a spelling mistake. :p Most people settle for the classic spelling mistake : learnt vs learned.

Crime fighting? Our guavament? Gasp what is that? Are they making money from crime fighting? no money? Gasp! For the public its a great idea, but this government damn sure doesn't give a damn about its people. Sad reality. Next elections all Gauteng citizens vote the ANC out! its a start to get their national average lower!

Even God destroyed the world when he saw how bad his creation turned out but the government seem to be above him and will leave their messed up creation right where it is.

Interesting comparison. Sadly true though.

“I am sure we are going to proceed with… phase two, but it must have this element of everyone understanding the implications… as motorists and users of that road.”

In other words, "we will do what the hell we want, but next time we will give the public an even greater opportunity to be ignored."

I was just thinking that when I read the main article

I still wonder how all the roads appeared out of thin air in the past, seeing that we never needed toll roads before. What happened to the public roads department and all the people that use to work there? Did they suddenly forgot how to fix/build roads or are they just part of the unemployed group?

They have been suspended with full pay, that or sanral buried them in another scandal of sorts...
