E-toll registrations increase to 350,000

Agh... no man.

I hope that the tolls are defeated legally, however it is ruled that those who have registered for e-tags still have to pay... and only they have to pay.

What if... only 388 000 have registered to date... and SANRAL have deliberately under-reported (lied about) the number or e-tag registrations... just to give the impression that there is a rush for them as d-day nears and hopes (and prays) that others will join in this (fabricated) rush!

Can you UNregister an etag account? Just wondering for those who realise they made a dumb decision later once SANRAL start eating all the cash in their accounts...

Foresight is not a gift bestowed upon everyone. It would serve them right methinks.
 
If no one registers and no one pay, what can they do? Take 4 million drivers to court? We must stand together on this one, I mean 30c for the toll and R1.40 for collecting the 30c. How efficient is that?
 
As sad to say this as I am, I somehow knew this was going to happen. As someone stated elsewhere, we are all big talk around the braai but when it comes to crunch time, we just cave in and take the shafting. My prediction is that come next Weekend the e-tag centers on the highways will be PACKED with all the terrified people who were so big to talk earlier, not want to get in "trouble" now and being "morally upstanding citizens". You guys are all correct, we all get together to complain, but once it comes time for action then most people scatter and do as they are told no matter how detrimental to them. Such as shame South Africa...

That or people who give in to the fear of the illegal threats that sanral keeps bombarding the press with... Car confiscation, license confiscation, multiplying the fee by 6 if you don't register, can't renew your license... What's next? They'll take your firstborn hostage to ensure you'll pay!?
