Web Africa drops prices and nobody notice that???

Maybe because their uncapped accounts aren't all that great? But yeah it's surprising that it wasn't picked up.

I was/am at 1MBs uncapped with ADSL line with them

Was paying R200 (ADSL rental)+R289 (data)
Now R250 (ADSL rental)+R189 (data)

All in all R50 saving

That might be, but you know the saying about cheapest and what you get. There are quite a few issues they need to sort out before someone logical would take them serious again:

Lack of transparency - seriously time to drop the spin.
Lack of service - telling something you are busy is not on.
Lack of throughput - numerous of people not getting what they pay for.
Lack of coherency - saying one thing and then doing another thing.
Lack of notices - shooting from the hip when it's upgrading time.
Lack of results - always a new to spin or on-hold for all issues.
Lack of head above ground - always head in ground approach to what is being said.

Yep.

Seems like Afrihost just wont drop their uncapped prices, COME ON AFRIHOST!!!!!

They might have lowered the WA uncapped accounts, but they increased the line rental amount. 384 is now again R150, not R100 as it was.

I still got billed R489 so me being a customer didn't seem to get the new prices. I did cancel anyway this week as I am not getting great speeds anymore. I seem to max out at 60kb/sec with my 1 mb line and that really isn't right on HTTP traffic. I can understand torrents or news servers but HTTP??? So I am going to give MWEB a try and see how that goes at the end of May when the cancellation is effective.

Nobody noticed because it is nothing special. Already mentioned above, they lowered the cost for the data but increased line rental by R50. so it is not much saving.

From experience since I am still on 1Mb uncapped with WA until the end of this month, what you pay for is not what you get. Downloading in peak hours under the threshold, the speeds are below par at best . Around 80KB/s, whereas I know my line can max out at 106KB/s with my Mweb account.

Dont even talk about downloading if you go past the threshhold. The speeds can range from 30KB/s to 50KB/s. 30KB/s is worse than what you get with 384K

New prices for uncapped
384 = R179
1024=R189

It's been increased, the 384kbps was always R179 but you now pay R50 more for line rental, 1mb price has deceased but you now pay more for line rental.

Nobody noticed because it is nothing special. Already mentioned above, they lowered the cost for the data but increased line rental by R50. so it is not much saving.

It's not a saving at all, it's a price increase, normal price was R279, new price R329.
