Article: Take back De Klerk's Noble prize: Nehawu

The National Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) demanded on Sunday that former president FW de Klerk's Nobel Peace Prize be retracted over comments he made in an interview with United State broadcaster CNN.

"De Klerk exposed himself to be an unapologetic proponent of a racist, facist system that oppressed the majority," Nehawu spokesman Sizwe Pamla said in a statement.
 
When did he do this? I must have missed it. Oh, that's right, they're taking crap.

BTW it's Nobel, not Noble.
 
I think rather than taking away De Klerks Nobel prize, we should revoke Nehawu's union status and revoke their ability to speak period... Bunch of idiots.
 
I don't think De Klerk would have entered this reform if he didn't think the whole system would come crashing and burning around him.
 
It was a joint prize... if he has to give it back then so does Mandela. Fair's Fair. :D

I demand that The National Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) all get sent for IQ tests and basic education classes. Guess we can demand whatever we want to.... it means nothing :D
 
De Klerk's statements showed that he ended apartheid.
 
All they care about are wanting to get their hands on the metal and gold the noble prize was made of maybe to sell at scrap dealers. Copper sources must be running low!

Some of the things he said were outrageous. "They were not disenfranchised, they voted. They were not put in homelands, the homelands were historically there. If only the developed world would put so much money into Africa, which is struggling with poverty, as we poured into those homelands. How many universities were built? How many schools?" he asked.

The homelands were historically there? What rubbish. How can you justify the small white minority getting 87% of the country, and the black majority getting 13%? How was that historically there?

Anyway I'm willing to forgive him. He's just a member of the older generation, having grown up with this ideological indoctrination. In fact I applaud him for rising above his background and still having the courage to end apartheid.
