The free one month BlackBerry BIS will be automatically activated to apply during the second month of BIS subscription
That are so slow they can't even get it to work in the first month. No chance I 'm signing a contract with them.

What about us existing clients? We not getting squat?

Hi BLIXEMPIE!

Existing clients who do not have BIS qualify as well...

They also get all the benefits they currently have with 8ta (1 e.g. end 5 SMSes and receive 50 more free for that day)

I was planning on ditching BIS on the 20th thanks to Vodacom when it expires but now I think I'll give it another shot on a different network.

Hi skimread!

This is not for contract subscribers - but for prepaid only. Giving this free for the first or the second month means there is still 1 free month of BIS. BIS activation first needs to happen before we can provide the free month.

Thanks. :)

Out of curiosity does 8TA allow international blackberry roaming on prepaid?

Have to say I'm rather impressed. The whole number porting process took about 5 minutes. Of course i still have to wait for vodacom to release the number into 8ta's hands. Hopefully by tomorrow my blackberry will be up and running on 8ta.

Edit. The process was so painless I'm planning on bringing in my handful of prepaid vodacom sims that I use for data and lend to friends ans family when they visit and porting those too. Its not as much 8ta knowing they gained the customers but vodacom knowing they lost them.

Hi bwana!

Currently international blackberry roaming is only available to contract customers... Thank you for joining our network. We are here if you have any further queries.

Half joined. . . Still waiting for the porting to kick in. I guess 24hrs was more of a guestimate. :(

Whats up with SPs not offering international roaming for prepaid blackberry?

8TA blackberry is up and running - unfortunately all my incoming calls are still being routed through to my Vodacom SIM so I'm forced to walk around with two phones.

You should have disconnected the Voda sim during the port process, that's why it failed IMHO.

I was instructed to keep using the vodacom sim until it stopped working.
