Hi,
I need some help here.
We have an HD PVR and an sd PVR and have got someone in to set the two up so that we can watch HD downstairs via hdmi, and .sd upstairs via normal rf cable. This setup worked for a couple of hours and then the feed upstairs showed an xtraview error about the connection. I have checked all the settings I understand but have no clue why there is no heartbeat between the 2 I spoke the techie afterwards and he said that the tv is causing the break. Is this possible? Can anyone help me get this to work permanently?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanos

Yes it is possible, disconnect all the TV"s to wich the DSTV is connected via RF, then connect a composite (red, white and yellow) cable from the SD pvr to a TV near the pvr, then check if the heartbeat signal is restored on that TV"s av channel.

If a picture is shown it is the RF outs to the TV if not then you have another problem, I had a similar issue I resolved it by installing DC blocks to every TV that didn't have a TV link installed.

Did you put in a T piece between the RF out and the RF in? Check for stray whiskers of cable. You can download an Xtraview problem solving guide from the DSTV forum, under Xtraview. It is a really simple connection so will be something basic.

The T-piece setup is not a stable solution. It was used because there were no other options. This is why we developed the 2 input SLx that snoopdoggydog linked to. This is a stable solution.

Have you got some more info on the SLx? Have friend with similar problem. Thanks

Everything seems to be sorted now.
I went into the settings and noticed that the 2nd tv connection hadn't been activated. I know that I did activate it, so maybe it didn't save?????
Lets see how long it lasts for this time, otherwise I will try the test that Tremayn suggested
