Linkin Park ticket sales result in Computicket debacle

what do they mean by Joburg tickets in the CT queue tomorrow?? they start again?

Computicket are a joke. So too are Big Concerts at times.
Someone with some cash and knowledge should take on the monopoly ticket vendor.

They should host at media temple for these kinda spike loads.

You would think they learnt from the Lady Gaga catastrophe. What a joke.

this ^

but Computicket, seem to be totally inept at learning from past mistakes and every time there's a big name concert there's a fiasco, either they have useless management, or they just couldn't give a damn because they don't have any real competition

Seems like they get into trouble for this kind of thing, way too often.

Lack of competency and reuse of old methods if you ask me. Maybe it is time for not cutting on the $$ and actually doing something over "patching" with fail ?

Why learn for your mistakes if you have a monopoly on the market and know that people have no other choice but to go through your archaic system if they want to see a good show? Maybe some ex government officials are working for Computicket...

Nothing new to see here, Computicket is always a screw up when a big concert is on, this is not the first time and absolutely nothing's been done to fix it. The queuing system is fine, but then you have 10 minutes to complete your transaction, and it take more than 5 minutes to load a single page from that point on! It's just totally shattered when you go from the queuing website back to Computicket's website to complete your transaction. I would think that the queuing system was introduced to reduce the load that they had before at the payment gateway, but it's done sweet eff-all.

Then to make it worse, after waiting in the queue for a few hours and you're finally taken to Computicket's website, it would sometimes timeout and tell you to GTFO back to the queue and start again! Anyway after 8 hours of trying, I finally got hold of some crappy tickets on the 2nd tier thanks to their shattered system! Is there nobody else in this country who the organisers can arrange to sell tickets the way they were supposed to?

Teh fail is strong with this one.

Seriously...did the Linkin Park concert catch them off guard or something? Perhaps they forgot the date? Bought 386 server boxes to handle the load by accident?

image you had to queue to tweet... or queue to use google docs. HAVE THESE CLOWNS NOT HEARD OF NOSQL AND THE CLOUD?

Was thinking the same. Especially after watching Google's App Engine they showed off at Google IO. There are plenty of available solutions for these chops :/

After waiting for 2 hours with no channge on the site, decided to try phone ... I dialled about 3 or 4 times before their telephone system answered, after which I waited like 3 minutes and then I was put through to the operator and bought my tickets. Total time via the phone +- 6 minutes and I got the seats I wanted. So win to the call centre, but fail to the website for being outdone by a call centre.
