Great news! I see that the ONE PRICE FITS ALL uncapped special is not ending at the end of October. This is music to my ears! :love:

The Axxess website ( https://www.axxess.co.za/uncapped ) now shows the following in red:
Due to unprecedented demand, this special pricing has been extended until further notice.

Hope it lasts forever as the pricing is super cool for a 10Mbps uncapped account!

I'm currently on one of their 10Mb accounts and loving it.

I don't download 100's of gigs a month so I doubt I'll get shaped much if any on the account.
 
Just signed up for this myself. How many simultaneous connections does it allow for?

Question time:

Compared to Afrihost, what's the limit like. If I hit 200GB, does my line go dead? Thinking of using the connection for home and office... instead of 2 afrihost uncapped accounts.

I did +/- 400GB last month. Love it! :twisted:
 
Gees signing up was instant!!! 30 seconds later I had an account!!! WTF??!!! How dare a South African company offer such ease of use and efficiency!!! I'll be reporting them to the CPA!!

On a serious note, ran some elementary speed tests and the preliminary results were superb.
 
Very tempted to dive in and sign-up but after getting burned with Afrihost again I think best to probably wait it out for a few months.Would appreciate any feedback you guys can give over the course of the next few months,particularly media streaming.

I used one of their 10Mb accounts in August as well, could stream 720p YouTube all day long without buffering. I did around 250GB on the account that month and the only shaping I noticed was on torrents during the day 7:00 - 18:00

How are torrents after hours? What about Astraweb and news groups?

Will check EU latency tonight, local latency is low I get around 10-20ms to JHB sites and 40-50ms to CPT

I haven't noticed any throttling on the accounts, if you go mad you'll probably get throttled. Like I said I did 250GB in August and didn't notice any shaping other than torrents were slow during the day.

I have had a torrent going for 3 days. It is the same speed whatever the time of day - 29kb/s to 35kb/sec. This is on a 2mb line. Haven't tried newsgroups yet. Who do Axxess use? There is no mention of it on their website

Then those torrents are slow, I downloaded a 2GB torrent last night and it was doing 700KB/s-1MB/s

They use IS
 
Ok cool thanks, so 10mb with Afrihost allows you to push -/+ 450Gb safely without being throttled. Do you think I'd be able to get at least 400GB out of this account without being throttled? When throttling does occur, how long would it last for until speeds are maximum again?
