Netgear n600 (DGND3700)

Hi All,

Picked this up yesterday, seems like a decent piece of kit.
It seems to take ages to authenticate though? does anyone else notice this? it syncronises perfectly but then does not authenticate until I tell it to manually connect, even though it is set to keepalive, and I have to tell it to connect a number of times before it actually does....
Also, it seems as if I am on a 172.x.x.x IP now and not the usual 41.x.x.x...
Fourways exchange, mweb.

thanks

Which ADSL modem are you using? It works brilliantly with my D-Link DSL-2500U, no syncing issues whatsoever.

This one has a built in dsl modem - edited the model number!

Oh, thought it might be something like that. Don't know about those sorry. Although maybe try the old "dsl" trick. If your username is [email protected], change it to xxxx@dslmweb.co.za. Or if you have that already, remove the dsl bit. It worked about a year ago, not sure if it will still do anything.

Hi I am looking around for a new adsl modem , mainly to try and get a better range in my house . I see modems speaking of "up to 300 Mbps" . my broadband connection is only 1 Mbps! why would I need such a fast modem ? or have I got it all screwed up? do more expensive modems provide better range?

300 mbps refers to the wireless network speed, not the modem.

Hi all

Anyone got some more feedback on the router above

Am planning on purchasing the WNDR3700

Planning on using it for streaming transfers etc.

Regards
Myz

Streams Full HD mkv's well, I managed a 30 GB file through the ceiling and some drywall with no issues whatsoever.
Seems to be really stable, and has great admin functions.

The old linksys I had seemed to have better coverage, though that wasn't a deal breaker for me as I was after wireless speed more than anything else.

Hi Nickd

Thanks for the feedback.

Seems to be a good router too go for from what I have read.
