Cyberspace the future battlefield

Cyberspace is the battlefield of the future, with attackers already going after banks and other financial institutions and developing the ability to strike U.S. power grids and government systems, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said on Friday.

Mense is nie so onnosel nie

Amerikaners wou nie oorlog toe gaan nie, toe skep hul ‘n ‘Pêrel Hawe’.

Spul beheer maniakke.
Dank tog ek het ‘n Almagtige God aan my kant.

The cyber platform is going to be problem for some time to come; and we're only getting started. All the incidents we experienced hitherto (i.e. hacking, viruses, etc) are just dress rehearsals. Our problem IMO is the failure of the powers that be to acknowledge and appreciate the problem itself, thereby failing to respond appropriately to it. There is so much skill shortage in this field it's not even funny. This mammoth task is going to require more than just budget, I think we need strong leadership, both in the government and in the corporate world to start with. Once these are sorted then the rest can follow.
