I agree.... the old model is dying. Bring on the new format for entertainment.
 
Does anyone actually watch ETV or SABC? I definitely do not.
 
While I would also like broadcast TV to die, so that we can have spectrum for LTE and future broadband techologies, it will not happen anytime soon, if ever.

Video over broadband networks (wired or wireless) on a scale large enough to dismiss analogue or DTT will not happen because broadband is simply too expensive and inaccessible to the masses. Broadcast TV over the air will still be the predominant method of reaching the television screens of the masses. Hence why it is important that ICASA get it right first time around (fat chance of ICASA getting anything right, nevermind first time around)

I'm not saying I agree with eTV, but I see their point.
