Worst Car Dealerships

Audi Menlyn
-Stole my mp3 player, no remorse.
-Tried to replace brake pads that clearly had another 10 000km in them.
-Took 3 months to repair my radio which could not play brand new CDs. My radio is still not functioning.

Audi Fourways
-Employee crashed a customer's RS6 while racing the neighboring Fourways VW mechanic (driving a customer's GTI)
-Replaced waterpump twice in 2 years.
-Refused to fix cooling issues while my car was under motorplan.

Audi Northcliff
-Wanted to replace my non faulty water pump for an apparent leaking (R5.00) seal. 6 Months later, the car is still fine, no water leaking and I did not replace the pump. This was clearly a scam.
-Wanted to replace my discs. I measured my discs somewhere else, and they were just fine with no replacement required.
-Wanted to replace my cam belt, which was replaced with my previous service (15 000 kn earlier)
-Recently wrote off a customer's cabriolet and did not want to take responsibility for the crash.

Audi SOUTH AFRICA
-Does not answer emails.
-Does not answer phones
-Cannot tell you what they replaced on your car, no matter that you paid an absolute fortune to fix it.

Why are you still driving an Audi?

Audi/VW Hatfield

You will never look back, best dealerships in the country.

Vw Hatfield:
Stuffed up my dash such that the center console doesn't sit straight any more, and left marks around the outside where they used a screwdriver to try pry it off.
Couldn't diagnose a low battery.
Cracked my gearbox housing and never actually managed to fix the issue.
Use the wrong oil when servicing.
Tried to pass off oil on the paintwork when I collected my car as being water from one of the not so nearby sprinklers at the place next door.

Gotta add CMH Datcentre Nissan PMB-KZN to this list

Bought a new car from them. It was dleivered with a spare tire/rim that was seriously kerbed. Rim and tire was a throw away. Broken side was facing down in the boot. So we would not see the damage. Yes they polished the side facing up.

1. Salesmans clearly signed the customer portion of the delivery note.

2. Dealer principle has promised a full refund, but months later this is clearly not going to happen.

Stay clear of this dealership.

These guys are the biggest bunch of clowns around. I currently need to get my spare key programmed for the car and am considering driving 150km just to not go to these guys.

Did you speak to the dealer principal? They won't tolerate that as the are all directors of Hatfield VW and they pride themselves on the fact that they provide some of the best service in the country. If that fails send Brad Kaftel a mail, he'll flip

Fordicks BMW Tyger Valley

The most useless bunch I've ever come across. When I had a part replaced on my Mini, it was sent to the airport, they sent their driver there and on his way back they lost the part. For it to magically appear an hour later when I was doing my nut. Go to their part centre and try to buy anything...they will have you standing around like a fool.

Two of my colleagues bought cars there and have complained about them ever since.

Audi service is generally cr@p all round.

Hatfield VW, Pretoria

A few yeas ago, while I was waiting in the entrance of the workshop to collect my wife's car after a service in the warranty period, a Golf came into the workshop with screeching tires.
The Golf was completely covered in a cloud of steam. All the other mechanics came running to inquire what was going on with that car. The driver, also a mechanic, nonchalantly told them that he had flushed the cooling system and forgot to replace the retaining clamp on one of the heater pipes before he went for a final pre-delivery test drive.
When asked how far away the hose came off, he told them about 3 to 4 km from the workshop but he took a chance to drive it back in the afternoon rush hour traffic.
One of the other mechanics jokingly asked if they should order a replacement sub assembly in the meantime, he replied that the woman owner (with some other unrepeatable words) wouldn't notice a power loss if the engine was damaged due to the overheating. He climbed back into the car, (still without water) started it and pulled away with screeching tires into a work bay.
As I stood at the counter to pay for my service, the lady owner came in to collect her car but was told that it would take another 5 to 10 minutes to finish her car and she should have a cup of coffee in the mean time.
I followed her to the coffee machine and told her what I had just witnessed. Together we confronted the manager and told him the full story and that I would be prepared to go to court as a witness if that engine wasn't repaired to acceptable standards with a warranty.
Fortunately I never heard of her again.

McCarthy Silverlakes...

They claim a final test drive was done. I start the car...notice like 75%+ power loss that wasn't there beforehand. So either their test drive clown is utterly incompetent or they are lying. Not sure which I prefer. Turns out the cambelt timing wasn't done right/at all...no perma damage thankfully.

They also managed to break a couple of things while only fixing half of the list I told them to fix. Took them about 3 visits to get it (almost) all of it right. Fuel indicator is still way off.

----------------

Had a decent experience with VW Hatfield though. They located an obscure part for me - or rather a dedicated staff member did in his personal capacity.

Jeeesh, some horror stories here! Got a Getz, I only took it once to Worcester for the cambelt replacement etc, rest of time I take it to local(backyard mechanic) that we personally know and always does a good job without ripping me off, I always buy service parts myself and only pay him for labour and I check work done afterwards! If you find a good mechanic, builder and plumber stick to them, in my experience! Think a thread should be started where we recommend great dealerships..

Always had the idea the Rola group is of your better dealerships.
