BlackBerry 10 launch date for South Africa confirmed

thats stupid. the thing that distinguishes bb from others is the lovely keyboard. i must have missed my invitation. just give me the new sparkly device. dont care about the party.

Can't wait! Looking forward to the launch, especially the availability of the N-series phone..

Are older BB's upgradable or is the OS scheduled for new models only? My wife has a Torch 9810 and she was wondering.

Its a completely new platform so will definitely not work on older models like the 9900,9810 etc

That said it was much needed and from the videos I've seen of the new platform this looks very interesting and fresh,I'll be getting me one as soon as they launch.

Need to replace my 9900 secondary phone and if its good enough I'll make it my main phone instead of what Ive been doing by keeping an iphone/android/wp as my main phone.

Looks like an iPhone

Yeah every touch screen phone with minimal bezels will look like an iphone just like every lcd/led tv with minimal bezel looks the same.

Talking about Apple, how come mybb did not post that their pinch to zoom patent was now ruled as invalid on wednesday?
Did I miss it maybe?

So thats two false patents of Apple that have been rejected so far.The previous one was the bounce back effect.

Looks good. What I saw of the OS looks pretty impressive but with Microsoft also gunning for business customers RIM will fighting on all fronts

My first thought as well, looks similar to iPhone 5, not bad. They needed a proper styling upgrade from the hideous homogenous looking typical BB style. Good luck RIM! And here's to hoping you have apps to go with your new shining OS.

Very excited, nothing like a BB keyboard, BBM, E mail etc

That explains a lot... :)

They hv jus enough money (frm loans and tax dodging) to scrap a decent marketing promo.
Nokia,Sony , Rim, Motorola are fighting to sty relevant.

If rim don't get something out of bb10, shop closed! Patents sold! Sorry Naijas and bafanas.

Most important question, will it support bis... Flat rate internet... R59 a month?
