Hi all,
So yesterday I got my new 3G modem and a Hauwei D105 WiFi router.
So I set everything up and then tried to get my phone onto the WiFi and it just did not want to connect, so after fiddling with various settings my phone finally managed to connect and was working fine for the duration of the night and even this morning when I awoke.
Went to work, had no issues connecting to the various WiFi hotspots at work, come home and the same issue. It does not want to connect... My phone tries to connect, it takes forever and then it throws out an error stating that my phone could not connect to the wireless network as there was no response from the network.
I have an HTC Mozart which is running WP 7.5 and have used it on A LOOOOT of WiFi hotspots all over the place, at work alone I have it switch between 5 WiFi hotspots of various types and manufacturers as I walk through the building each day. My phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n which are the same which this router has and is set to have all 3 available - yesterday I tried to select B only and then G only and did not connect. I finally got my phone to connect when I turned off DHCP on the router, tried to setup a static IP on my phone which did not work as there were DNS issues. Set it back to DHCP and then my phone stayed connected and I even turned WiFi on and off again and it was fine and I left DHCP on for convenience.
I tried various encryption standards for the WiFi network as well as no encryption (so an open network) and that made no difference. It worked on WPA-PSK2 with "TKIPAES" algorithm.
I have tried to make a DHCP reservation as I initially thought it may be a DHCP issue on the routers side. No luck.
When I tried from my sisters PC with an Asus 802.11b (only) WiFi dongle it connected to the open network without issues and I do not have any other Wireless devices in the house to test the router with.
I have looked for Firmware updates and have not been able to find.
I am not sure what else to try or whether I should possibly send the router back and get it swapped out?
Regards,
Psy
