Johannesburg - Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend in the early hours of Thursday morning, apparently after thinking she was an intruder, Beeld reported.

The police's Captain Sarah Mcira confirmed the woman had been shot in the head and arm.

She died at the scene.

Pistorius is apparently in police custody.

This is so sad , its true according to reports. RIP to the victim and condolences to the families.
 
Yeah, shoot first, ask questions later. Great example of responsible gun ownership there.
 
This is insane! On this day as well. If this was indeed an accident, what a tragic one indeed. Condolences to the girl's family.
 
Aren't you suppose to fire a warning shot first? Surely she would've shouted out or something? Apparently he shot her twice..

Paralympian athlete Oscar Pistorius allegedly accidentally shot dead his girlfriend at his house in Pretoria on Thursday morning, Beeld.com reported.

He had mistaken her for a robber, the Afrikaans daily reported on its website.
Police spokeswoman Captain Sarah Mcira confirmed she was shot in the arm and head. She died on the scene.
 
Fek, thats horrible.

This happens way too much in SA. Its the fact that we have all been held up and robbed before.

Pushes us over the limit with paranoia.

He deserve to go to jail for life! Such irresponsible actions. No Sympathy for him from me, who the hell just wakes up and shoots someone in the head? What made him assume that it was a robber and not his girlfriend getting up for some water or something along those lines? I call BS!

Visibility cant have been so bad that he was accurate enough to get a head shot and an arm shot in 2 to 5 rounds? must have been a silhouette in the least and I can tell my lady (stature) from her silhouette.

I don't know how true this is, but I do know the guy looks pretty emotionally unstable from what I've seen. Guess we'll have to wait for more details.
 
Not to spread rumors but I've heard they've been having issues for a while.
