Residents in Hillcrest in Durban say they are under attack from violent gangs. There have been a series of armed robberies in the area this year. Several homeowners have been attacked with pangas and hammers.

The video actually shows the guy getting stabbed in the back (he survives very well, don't worry, but still sickening as hell).

Well, I live in a pretty well guarded big security estate with guards doing the rounds and stuff, but this is sht!
 
And in other news in Durban, a home owner just a few days ago was arrested for murder, when he encountered an intruder in his kitchen and sought to protect his family and shot him dead.

Durban - A Durban man who has been charged with murder after killing an intruder in his Manor Gardens home, was granted R2 000 bail on Monday.

A dejected and tired-looking Dennis Webster made his first appearance at the Durban Magistrate’s Court after spending Sunday night in the cells at Mayville police station.

Webster, 49, was arrested after he fired what he said was a warning shot at an intruder who had entered his Marche Avenue home, at about 7am on Sunday.

Had these okes gone outside with guns, 2 intruders would be dead and the people (who where protecting their homes) would be in jail.

Something is very wrong here.
 
The regime states it's an "isolated incident" and "shouldn't be blown out of proportion".

Good to see those responsible for safety so relaxed and confident after 600 break-ins rocked Durban's northern suburbs during just the first 6 weeks of 2013.

Suppose unlimited governmental VIP policing has its perks, meanwhile the citizens bleed.

This is the same Durban police who made such a huge deal to the media about ATM bombers who were caught on CCTV being white calling it the changing face of crime and then they later turned out not to be.

I'll probably follow this case more than I did when Oscar's started, never had to deal with intruder but need to learn about these scenarios. Then see whether it's different in other countries.
 
This is sick s@$t. To see them crawling like farking snakes. Atleast they did not harm the females inside. Makes me think of applying for a firearm asap. We should all lock and load in this sh@thole.

Yeah, the guys saw the intruders on the camera and went outside armed with what, to investigate? Their good personalities? Diplomacy?

I almost think it is irresponsible not to own a firearm living in SA.

Why did he have to be locked up in the first place if he was defending himself/family against intruders?
