Has anyone tried this? I don't make samp very often because it takes forever to cook. This was super easy and ready in under 30 minutes. I made it with some Indian flavour if you want to try it.

Half a medium sized onion, sliced thinly
Little oil
1teaspoon masala ( I used a tablespoon :D)
Half a teaspoon ground ginger and garlic mixture
1 sprig curry leaf
Salt
2 chicken breasts cut into small pieces

Fry onions in oil, then add masala and mix. Add cut chicken pieces, mix ,cover and leave to cook for 5 minutes. Next add ginger and garlic, salt and curry leaf. Mix,cover and cook for 10 minutes. Add Koo samp and beans and about half a cup of water (depending on how much gravy you want), leave to cook until the gravy has reached the consistency you want. Serves 2. It's a perfect meal for the upcoming winter evenings.

An Indian aunty cooking out of a tin. Whatever next

Have you tried doing the samp/beans in a slow cooker Aunty Denz?

Reminds me I hate samp!

So you don't cook baked beans? :p
and the reason YOU don't like samp is cause you need some meat in it. :D

Never seen that, I always make my samp and beans from scratch. Soak them over night before cooking.

Do I look like an indian aunty? :p

Everyone at home seems to love it. I look at it and instant appetite loss

Geez, I think I know what I'm having for lunch now. A small tub of mutton curry and a can of this... nomnomnomnom.

Which is how I usually do it, and the reason I don't cook it very often. It still takes a long time. You would never say that last night's samp came out of a tin.

I love tinfish samoosas, but the wife hates tinfish, so I have to accept the mince or potato samoosas that she makes.

potato

and she can make for you seperate ..not like its a complicated job

in jhb some people made some hectic samoosas ...one lady made some moong dhall or something
