Dual-SIM for your iPhone, Galaxy S4

Lovely! With this you can have a normal phone sim and a separate data one to get proper mobile data rates, not the inflated add-ons to phone contracts.

The thin SIM gets stuck onto your existing SIM card and you switch between networks using an app or USSD string, Greeff said.

Not so much hey.

I don't understand why the high-end phones don't have this capability, but you can import a cheap POS phone, and it has dual-SIM

Does not look like its dual standby - so only 1 SIM is active at a time ... not so nice.

They do in Asian markets especially Japan and China. We in the decadent West are just to greedy it seems.

But yeah this looks like it will suck. What's the point of having to switch, you could just as well replace the SIMs manually.

Does it work without a jailbreak on an iphone?
And does it have standby on the non active sim?

No good having both of your sims off half the time. Either way if it's a solution that requires anything from the networks it's never going to let you get away with doing what you actually want with it.

FTFY.

You won't be able to receive calls on your normal phone sim when using data with the data sim.

Nonetheless, it will help people save to an extent. My guess is that Vodacom and MTN will try to stop this happening and say that the dual sims would require extra customer support etc. The reality however is that they would lose call and data revenue to CellC and 8ta.

Hi,

Actually, the S4 does have that capability ... you only need to find for its dual-SIM version, which is Galaxy GT-I9502

I think it is a bit costlier, but it comes with the dual-SIM feature from factory.

Regards
