Telkom Mobile 50GB data deal: worth the price?

the strange thing is that whoever came up with this package already knew whats available in the market and offered it anyway. logic just doesnt make sense. looks like telkom sounds like telkom must be telkom
 
The package aint that bad. Its way better then the rest and you have 6 months to use the data.
 
WOuld have loved the 20gb promo from Vodacom only because of reception, but only for 1 month duration ?! :sick:
 
nothing wrong with this, its for people who can't afford the 60 + 60 but who needs bigger caps and the 6 months duration is a winner in my books

That is the problem, to offer any value this has to be for 12 months.

As it is this is nowhere, the 60+60 offers better value.

Won't be getting this.

I am looking for good value 1-2 GB per month for relatives, preferably for a year, and 8ta just has nothing like that.

Cell C 2GB per month for R1299 for a year is much better in my book.

yeah iburst pricing is lower, but so is the speed and connection quality in my experience.... have to have real good signal, and only expect to use it for downloads where there is not a time issue.
iBurst should really up their service.... but its been the same so long, i doubt if they are interested in competing in this same market segment.

these big deals are looking quite good, compared to ADSL... (for the same usage pattern, not 100Gb/month users)
 
Yeah good value I must say especially if you are in a good reception area and you don't want to put up with the hassle of applying for a ADSL line and all other manner of irritations.So let's consider ADSL vs HSDPA from my current ISP Afrihost and the one from Telkommobile and not consider bundled ADSL+ADSL line rental for now.

Data (Afrihost): 25GB+25GB = R285.00
DSL Line-2Mbps(Telkom): = R299.00
Line rental(Telkom): = R148.37
TOTAL = R732.37

Price diff = R266.63

Then consider speed,portability and copper-cable theft immune and suddenly it makes a whole lot more sense than ADSL if your usage is around 1GB-30GB per month.

Agreed - I would have jumped on the Vodacom deal for one of my iPads.....but Vodacom killed the deal by having it valid for only 30 days. If it were valid for 6 months, I would get two of them

Agree 100% - 12 Months Validity will outsell all other products.
Even chain stores can offer this product.

Come on 8ta someone is not thinking.
