VVM Attorneys under fire

Numerous consumers are using online platforms to complain about communications from VVM Attorneys. These complaints typically relate to debt collection e-mails and SMSes.
 
Hmmm
Maybe I should use these guys for my debt collection...if they can piss people off then they must be good!
 
Why would anyone be posting spam about VVM on forums if they weren't getting money for it? Looks like a desperate attempt to clean-up what gets returned on google when you search for VVM.

It's also not just MBB getting spammed. I saw cached information for lonely planet and here is another one that is still live: http://www.rainbownation.com/community/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=27646 - site seems to be overrun by spammers.

These clowns have been sending SMS's to my family for years. Edgars accounts, TV licences, etc.

Another bunch have been at me for a Health & Racquet contract I owe money on. Closest I ever came to that was phone calls from salespeople trying to sell me a membership. Hilarious really - there isn't one in our dorp!

Ohh hell no...I had my bi-weekly run-in with them just yesterday...most bloomin retarded bunch of useless oxygen wasters I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. SABC are freakin useless, they are twice as stupid.

SABC issued 2 different licenses for the same business. Trying to get the SABC to cancel the one has been an ordeal, and eventually I gave up, I have my license, so I am within the law. Now for the last 6 months these clowns at VVM has been calling me once or twice a month without fail.

At first I politely explained the issue, and they promised to fix the problem...but then the calls never stopped (and I assume they never bothered to do anything promised)...and some of these retarded minions are REAL arrogant, even after my re-telling the whole sad story week after week. Now I just swear at them and kill the call.

They are such a bunch of liars. They were pursuing me for license payments for a period I spent in the UK.
I told them I was in the process of sorting it out with the SABC directly.
They told me that I could not sort it out with the SABC and I must forward all my evidence and documentation to them.
I ignored that ****, and got it sorted out with the SABC. No ****ing way will I trust these sharks with my passport details, visas, travel records etc.

If you refuse to pay your TV licence there is nothing they can do to you besides harassing you. You cannot be blacklisted for not paying your TV licence.

You can be prosecuted though...

Q: WHAT ARE THE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES OF CONTRAVENING THE TV LICENCE LEGISLATION?
A: Anyone found guilty in court of failing to comply with the law may be sentenced to a fine of not more than R500.00 or to imprisonment for up to six months, or both.

And I suspect they'd still pursue you for the money.

They can only prosecute you if they can prove you possess a TV without a license. That is a completely different issue to refusing to pay outstanding licence fees.
 
VVM low life spammers and scammers be very very careful they don't con you out of money.

Damn right,my late father(8yrs ago) is still getting letters/statements from these scum bags from the SABC.:( Even in death,how low can it get?

Yes, but that's all they do, pursue. If you say, "Take me to court", they never will. Trust me, I've been there done that. They will never take you to court, because they can't. They work purely on harassment. They just hope that you will cave in one day and pay them.
 
It's not just VVM, there's also MDB Attorneys. I've recently had a brush with them about a prescribed debt from 2004! Thanks to Hellopeter and a lot of threats of legal action that my issue was resolved!

Oh yes..and them too.You lucky, 2004 me 2001.:D I believe by statute a TV licence debt cannot prescribe.
