ANyone else getting these emails, so far I have heard about a dozxen or so

Dear MWEB Customer

We want to ensure the best possible experience for our customers by managing the quality of our network. We monitor the usage on our network and make sure that customers are not abusing certain defined parameters. This is in line with our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

Your usage is currently exceeding these parameters. From 1 September, if you continue to show excessive usage patterns, you will experience slower connection speeds (while we manage your bandwidth usage). As soon as your usage patterns stabilise your connection speeds will return to normal.

Here are some tips to avoid excessive usage:
1. Don’t leave your connection running all day (downloading heavy content)
2. Know who is using your Internet connection and make sure it’s secure
3. Or, upgrade to another MWEB package to accommodate your higher data usage. Click here for faster line speed and higher data options.
Kind regards
The MWEB Team

Threaten them back with contract termination, refund and hellopeter, retards

Terrible timing with FNB's own new network, I get discount with them.

Pretty douche move on Mwebs side. Not a lot going for them lately.

Firstly the MyBB article puts their business uncapped multitudes more expensive than the competition, then FNB release their uncapped which some customers can get for free and then on the same day they decide to send out a bunch of AUP mails to loyal customers?

Has their marketing department gone on holiday?

This has to be a system, glitch, one they need to resolve super fast or they going to be inundated with cancellation emails

If it was me getting these letters I would get a telkom business uncapped line at home.

I mentioned this in the M-Web thread already. According to M-Web guy it's standard bla bla bla.

Cancellation will be done before the end of the day. I have also just cancelled my hosting with M-Web. Seems M-Web is spiraling downhill fast.

Bad move on MWEB's part. Maybe those letters are part of their strategy to get rid of the bandwith hogs becoz their networks been shyte lately. (Just feedback from friends that are still with MWEB, I bailed out of that sinking ship ages ago)

*is that the fat lady singing I hear?*

Maybe it's intentional. Maybe they want to get rid of all the high usage customers on their network and just keep the sheep. I doubt this though as a lot of recommendations come from happy customers so it would hurt their new customer acquisitions.

Wow, that sucks. As I said before, if I ever get such an email, bye bye MWEB. That same day.

We have been moving our company away from mweb as much as we can in the last months.
All we have left with them at the moment is an ADSL line (waiting for VOIP line to be installed before we can cancel that) and 2 email addresses.

They lost 3 of our domains and about 30 email addresses so far.

Next up is the dsl line then they are no longer my problem (besides 2x mweb.co.za email addresses that we will be keeping and using to auto reply for a few months).

I got the same thing hey!

Same as Weeswolf. Ive got 3 pcs linked up to steam, so 3 x 10000000gig steam updates. Plus whatever else is also about 100-150 a month, i emailed them and have contacted other ISP's to see what other offerings are available. I specifically asked about this when i signed up with them, and was told that I could never exceed the AUP, even if i tried. Funny story right...

Ive got a trial account at openweb for the weekend already which ill give a run.The 2mg package.

Ill let you guys know how it goes if you like, and obviously ill ask them about AUP/FUP etc and revert back as well.
