I stay in cornelius street, and I swear on my life there is an exchange 600m down the road....

However, I get routed to the exchange 5kms away next door to clearwater. (bceause that exchange doesnt have a cable coming up the road)

I am paying for a 4mb line to get 1mb speed at the worst attenuation and noise levels known to man.

Can someone enlighten me as to why if Telkom know that line attenuation at a distance of 4kms is bad, why dont they have mini exchanges every 4km radius?

Also....is there any hope for me?

Im in wilgeheuwel and the exchange is 2mbit max, so dont complain too much :(

I stay in Peperboom Avenue on a 1meg line. Too unstable on a 2 meg connection.

I thought I was bad on a 63db attenuation. Line is unstable quite often (couple of times a week) and have to reboot router and disconnect line to fix.

My number starts with 679.

I connect to the Panorama exchange next to Clearwater.

I wish they would put in MSAN closer to me just to get a more stable line and maybe 2 or 4 meg.

20 meg too expensive.

Very unstable line with slightly faster speeds only during off peak times. I have complained to the nth-degree and after every excuse (lol) have to contend with being 5.22 km from exchange and Telkom not being able to transfer me to either of the other 2 exchanges (one being 3.4km and the other 4.5km) that are closer as they use different prefixes (cables, lines already laid !)

I'm also on 011 675, Opera Road, and I can only get a 1 meg line, and I'm getting 400+ ms ping to any local site, and download speeds less than half of my 1 meg...

Try logging a fault with Telkom and ask them to try moving your line. They put some new equipment down at the Sasol on Nic Diedericks but they won't migrate you unless you ask. I'm now on a solid 6Mbps service.

Also 011 675 number on a horrific 1mb line (if I'm lucky it syncs at 640 on a good day)

Couple of streets up from the Allens Nek Vet on Jim Fouche.

Woah, that's way closer to me! Is your line with your ISP or Telkom? I wonder if Webafrica are able to request a move...

I stay in Peperboom Ave.

I found out I was still on 384kbps (MWEB says on Telkom side) two months ago BUT was paying for 1MB from MWEB.

That's when I Googled and found Honeydew exchange is 4,3kms and Bromhof is 4,5kms (Oops, Aasvoelkop DCS is 3,4kms)

hey, could you be the owner of the dog that is always talking to my dog at 5 in the morning ? hehehe

Hey guys

I've just moved from Strubensvalley where I was getting 10meg to Honeydew Manor (Taylor road) where I can get max 2 meg... Is there any possible way to get a faster line? Apparently my exchange is near Eagle Canyon?? Surely there must be something closer?
