Afrihost’s R22 million mobile data bet

How many of the 8000 MiFi subscribers like me are to cancel after one month?

They have to do something special after Feb 2014 to keep me as a subscriber.

More like mobile broadband uncapped for R200 bucks with an FUP of 50GB :). I'd be subscribed for the next 10 years.
 
but would you sign a contract to that effect - one that if you want to leave the contract you'd have to pay out the term?
 
I wouldn't be surprised if AH have more tricks up their sleeves come Feb next year, anyway I'm in for the long haul right now, will see what happens

So are you cancelling after one month or after Feb 2014?

I definitely won't cancel after the 1st month.
Afrihost has come to the party for many years and I think they are a very decent ISP.

Obviously everybody want more bang for their buck, but even if the deal reverts back to R145/Gb at the end of February, I will still support the deal for at least the next year.
I got this deal for my daughter at Potch.

Thx for the deal Afrihost. I'm pretty sure, come February, I won't be disappointed.

Maybe that doesn't make a difference. Don't be cheap. Rather don't sign up for the offer. For a modem wi-fi access point? Really? For something that your smart phone can probably do in any case (wireless hot spot)?

What's the point of purchasing the deal? You've got a hotspot, well done, what are you going to use it for? Leave it to rot on the shelf? Use it with another MORE expensive provider? Did you grab it just for the sake of it?

The illogical cheapness is strong with this one.

Haha dude. What a reprimand. What if the device rots in the shelves, lol, it's mine, my problem. I already have sufficient data on mobile broadband. And I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was in it for the MiFi. Check Twitter, Facebook and the Afrihost threads here :)...

Afrihost should have had some sort of opt in for a couple of months to stop all the cheapos from ripping them off.

R22 million! Hope this does not come back to bite them.

I'm also irked by the fact that, seeing how this was a limited offer, he denied someone else the opportunity to both lower their connectivity costs AND to support Afrihost.

Funny enough he doesn't see how his own actions are a hindrance to his vision of "mobile broadband uncapped for R200 bucks with an FUP of 50GB" :rolleyes:.
