Cell C network “perfect” by November: CEO

He said that the company has put a very well qualified team in place, just for Johannesburg, where he said the amount of traffic growth defies belief for a country so close to saturation.

“Their brief is that everything has got to be perfect by the end of November,” Knott-Craig said.

Good stuff, I'll give you until December to sort things out. Just because of your 99c per minute rate.

For how long till it collapses again?
Perfect for Novembers current base, what about projections for example Feb 2014?

It will collapse again. Most people involved in GSM have no clue what they are doing. In Africa, GSM is seen as a cash-cow, a way to make money without lifting a finger. Who cares if your network is frequently down and violates 3GPP specs

All those many months when people were complaining and CellC was saying NOTHING, remember that?!?!?!!?

Thats where u lost my trust and my business

Lets hope so. So far data throughput has been dismal. Voice calls etc, not bad at all.

What about cape Town? Southern Suburbs needs upgrades just as much.

Screw JHB, let those rich rats pay Vodacom's high rates. Roll out LTE in the Cape and neglect the rest of the country.

Also if you think R1 per minute for a voice call is cheap, you're dead wrong. I will consider voice cheap in SA when rates sink back to under 10c per minute.

We are being mightily overcharged in South Africa on voice on data on SMS on every bloody thing!

Don't care, we moved around 900 contracts away from Cell C to Vodacom/MTN in the last few weeks.

People that need to wait a few months to get a service from them still need to pay their monthly subscriptions. But in typical SA fashion most people are too scared to complain and will carry on staying with these losers.

When has it EVER been under 10c per minute!?

Many people don't think Cell C can survive with their current rates, and you're saying they should cut their prices by 90%? Please tell me when calls in SA cost under 10c a minute?

I thought AKC said a couple of weeks ago that all the network issues were because of Vodacom not handing over seamlessly and that there was nothing that Cell-C could do about it.

They acknowledged that their network was under strain.

I'm glad CellC is doing something about the network congestion, and putting a time frame to it!

Kudos where it's deserved. Now lets see the results.

Hopefully, thereafter other provinces will follow. For the past two days I have been experiencing issues with people not being able to call because my phone is 'off' when it wasn't.

Cell C, you are making me think of Vodacon and I haven't since I ported in 2010!

Fix your mess and fix it soon cause I am not impressed at all!
