New Google home page

Google started the roll-out of its redesigned home page Thursday in a move designed to standardize the way users interact with its services across smartphones, tablets and PCs.
 
I think Google is really trying to force people into Google+ and its getting very annoying and confusing.
 
I deleted my account and a few weeks later I got a message one of my friends added me to their circles.... hmmm....... :erm:

Automatic upload of photos was most probably on. On my phone it uses no bandwidth unless I use it. Nothing wrong with Google+.

Thats normal. If you add someone and they are not on G+ they get a email saying you been added to their circles. Its normal. Its not like its linked to a profile.
 
I dont get the change? Hasnt that been there forever? Or have I just seen it in my Gmail and now they only pushed it into Google. Im confused. It looks the same.
 
The toolbar being referred to has been there for close on a year already....

If you do have a Google account it makes it nice and easy to navigate to Plus, Maps, Play etc.... you just click the relevant link on that toolbar...
 
One of these days you will need to sign up for G+, just to be able to use their search engine. Plus another scummy ad deluge

I like the home page. Very useful.

Someone probable clicked "next" without reading the question properly. The app asks first before enabling automatic photo upload.
 
What I don't like is a "Google Doodle" every second day, its distracting. Otherwise the page is pretty much the same.
 
Chrome was working fine this morning - all of a sudden when I open it, my homepage defaults to a warning page with this message :

In IE I don't get this message popping-up at all.

EDIT :
I've cleared all History as well, but the www.google.com or www.google.co.za set as my homepage still goes to this error page in Chrome. If I also set http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/ to open on startup, it does, so presume there's something wrong with google.com & google.co.za

Is this on a PC?

Go check out which extensions you have installed in Chrome. Also take a look at all your installed programs in control panel. Sounds like some software messing with Chrome.

Thanks, but I had done these checks yesterday.
Strangely, happening on both PC and laptop - hope then it's nothing to do with modem/router having been hacked !

There were no extensions enabled in Chrome on either PC or laptop, and deleted anything that seemed 'funny' in installed programs - in fact, the only thing I installed recently on the 32-bit PC was the recommened file here :

I've since deleted it.

Then, also restored PC & laptop both to earlier than the 22nd & 23rd which is when this started happening.

Also, I changed the saved homepage links of www.google.com & equivalent GMail login page, which were defaulting to that error page, to others that are no longer doing it.

However, when I tried to logon to GMail just now, I still got that error, so all I can access GMail directly with is via IE (going to check that again now) & via a Mail Client (though I need direct access to GMail on at least one account) - don't know where to go from here, though.

Maybe either delete Chrome entirely and re-download it again, but will lose my saved favourites, or wait til Google updates the version and hope it corrects itself then.
