Hey everyone, I just ordered my Roku from Amazon.
Already have Netflix and Hulu+, but was just wondering what channels you guys and girls enjoy.

I think I'll probably use Revision3 as I like games and tech.
What can you guys/girls recommend?

Personally, I prefer MediaBrowser 3 to Plex, but you could probably argue it both ways.
Have a look for comparisons on the net.

Vevo (all the latest music videos), Pandora, iheartradio, Rdio (needs subscription), Spotify (needs subscription)
Smithsonian channel (documentaries)
Livestation (international news, eNCA seems to have disappeared)
NowhereTV (hundreds of channels including international news)
Giniko (many African news channels, eNCA (not working atm), MTV)
USTVNow (CBS, ABC, NBC etc., 45 day free trial)

Cool. Thanks for those. Gonna have to give them all a go and see what kind of channels suit my needs.

I was just thinking. Power Supply. Do the US Roku's work with our plugs by simply using one of those plugs? Or will I have to buy a new PSU. I ordered the Roku LT as we don't really need 1080, ethernet, etc.

Which version of the LT? Roku launched a new range of streamers a few days ago. The older 2400X LT (BCM2835 ARM processor) is supposedly better than the newer 2450X (BCM7208 MIPS processor). I have an HD 2500X which is identical to the 2450X. It can get quite warm after several hours if the air flow is not good. The 2400, 2450 and 2500 all come with a 100-240V 5V power supply. You will need a flat to round adapter like the one below. I'm not sure about the new range though. Did you look at the new Roku 1 which is $10 more than the LT but supports 1080p.

Checked my order on Amazon. It says it is the 2450D.
I wanted to actually order the Roku 1, but it wouldn't ship to me, so that's why I just took the LT, seeing that this will be used in our bedroom, and the LED TV in our bedroom is only 720p anyways. Plus, Only have a 4Mbps ADSL line so won't be trying 1080p for some time to come.

I'll order one of those adapters so long. Estimated delivery date only 25th Oct - 6 Nov. So have plenty time.

You should be able to find that adapter at any decent hardware/electrical supplier etc.

I also ended up with an HD 2500X as it was the only model available at a reasonable price. In fact I ordered a Roku 2 HD (older model) and Amazon Japan delivered the newer version. Details about the new Roku models (LT-2700X, 1-2710X, 2-2720X) are still not available but they may use faster processors than their predecessors which would make them a better choice. There are many reports concerning overheating issues with both the LT 2450X and the HD 2500X so hopefully Roku has addressed this issue. Roku seems to be dropping support for several of the older units which is another reason to choose the latest models.

Older model LT-2400X
