Google is an innovation machine imo. Facebook has to watch out. I find myself spending more and more time on G+ as there's just so much more activity and interesting people to follow. And what a great photography community!

They introduced major improvements to the existing features. Basically everything is automated, if the user wants it that way.
Only reason you spend more time on G+ is because it's rammed into every google product now, it's actually quite annoying.
Nonsense. It's because I choose to use it. It's also because there are many interesting people making the deliberate choice to use G+ as their primary platform on which to engage with the world.
