Cell C launches 65c international calling promotion

Belgium but not the Netherlands? Sucks for me, at least Germany, the UK and France are on there:)

Good stuff Cell C, perfect for the Holiday season.

There is no opt-in and the rates are applicable to all new and existing pre-paid, TopUp, Postpaid and LCR customers and will be available until 31st January 2014.

Like to read that, if only Vodacom would learn something from Cell C.

I don't get it. So all the azzholes with family overseas benefit, but people with family in SA do not. So Cell C is rewarding ex-pats over those who stay in the country. azzholes.

Quick question, why can't they offer such low charges Cell C to Cell C? I know they're trying but how about starting at home?

That I would love to know, but my guess would be on-net pricing drops may not be allowed as a standard, all the networks (including Cell C) have various promotional methods of doing this, but none do it as an outright standard price. Most of them do it by a Buy-one-get-one-free type option (Cell C on their prepaid as an example for them). VC and Telkom do some stuff like that and so on.

Cell C do a closed call group for businesses and there is that deal with Discovery Vitality where you can get unlimited calls to other members if you take the option, think there was a monthly fee of some kind.

As I mentioned I am guessing it comes down to regulations otherwise the easiest way for VC and MTN to kill off the competition is to do a 6 month 'special' where they allow on net calls for 10c/min. Since they have the consumer base it makes it too cheap not to jump ship. But that is using your oligopoly for evil and gets you in hot water, so my guess is Cell C and Telkom can't try the same trick to win new customers.
