Hi all
Hi Telkom_ZA, Hi Ranger.
After so many posts in the Telkom Uncapped thread which seemingly all go unnoticed, I believe it is time to highlight the problem in a separate thread to hopefully (I pray) give it the focus it deserves.
We have a separate gaming thread for TI users, so let's see what happens.
My dozens of posts summarised into 1:
Hulu, Netflix and Vevo HD streaming either on PC, Apple TV or Samsung TV smart apps are useless during the evenings from around 6PM onwards. Weekends seem ok.
Constant buffering, less than SD quality, basically useless.
A handful of users claim to have no problems. Many, however, experience the same as the above.
I'm on TI 10 meg uncapped. Am not a high volume downloader (<100gb month).
If I use a backup Afrihost Capped account during the times referred to above, everything works perfectly.
So I can only conclude it's a TI issue.
How do we get problem resolution, technical assistance and solve this ?
Is streaming video traffic like this shaped, throttled, de-prioritised, unrecognised, <insert term you like here> ?
We await an answer.
It's been going on for months.
:wtf:
EDIT:
YouTube always works fine. Up to 720p on clips that have it.
Definitely QoS and traffic shaping going on for some video protocols. Come on TI. Fix this please.
