Oscar Pistorius trial DStv live stream change

[-]Combined Artists has pulled the plug on its live feed from the courtroom of the Oscar Pistorius trial[/-]

Combined Artists has stopped providing its own video feed from the courtroom where the murder trial of Oscar Pistorius is taking place and opted for a feed from GlobeCast instead.

They were using a provider who's CDN kept crashing.

The other streams like Beeld, City Press and international ones are using a provider's CDN's on our infrastructure and it's streaming nicely. We've been monitoring the connectivity and have had bandwidth peaks of around 650Mb/sec on the first day, but the other days it's sat between 40Mb/sec & 120Mb/sec, but thats obviously not taking into account traffic pulled from the other edge CDN's that this one is pushing too.

I cannot imagine why anyone would want to watch the trial live anyway. Just read the news the next day!

I've updated the article and excerpt/subtitle to better emphasise the difference between the live video feed from the courtroom and the live streams that are put online that use that feed as a source.

It should be noted that the live stream of DStv's dedicated Oscar Pistorius trial channel (199 on its satellite platform) is still online. Combined Artists only changed the source of its live video feed from the courtroom itself.
