Termination rate ruling welcome: Telkom

So I will pick up my Telkom home line tomorrow and call MTN and pay the same high rate I paid today, and last year, and the year before ... - actually an exorbitant markup on the call!

Meanwhile Telkom will pocket the 20c/minute difference.

I believe the new rates only apply to telkom mobile, telkoms land line division is not regarded as a small player and in the past they paid very high interconnect rates which subsidised Vodacom and Mtn.

So in short they would only drop it enough to keep it competitive.
