Hetzner launches co-location hosting services

Excellent news. I've been using Hetzner's Truserv servers for years already and have always been very impressed with their service. Will be interesting to see how putting my own equipment in their co-location facilities could work out. These prices and terms are excellent too.

Do I understand correctly that they are charging for power usage?

It is normally part in the power and cooling guidelines, there is also power restrictions pending on the co-location plan. This is standard practice looking at the terms, but is usually bundled within the pricing (again pending on the plan).

That's normalish - you usually get a set amount of power included in the rack price, and then pay for overage. Doesn't look like Hetzner bundle any power in, it's all OOB.

I wonder if they offer any peering? Both Teraco and IS you can peer and get competitive bandwidth prices, if Hetzner's your only bandwidth option, it'd be best to look elsewhere for your colocation needs. Teraco charge a port fee every month (R350'ish IIRC) to and IS is a once-off of around R1000 to run a cable to another bandwidth provider.
