No signal this morning on any of my devices:mad:
Now using my Telkom Mobile sim.
Anyone else with the same problem?

Location Bellville South

No service at all since last night, Pinelands. I'm done with Cell C... the savings aren't worth the *****ty service.

Observatory and Century City seem down. Connects to network then drops (rinse and repeat). Happening to another person in the office.

Tested with Virgin Mobile SIM and multiple handsets....all do the same.

zb.

Vredehoek and CBD down with slight gprs every now and then.

Network has been flaky with no coverage or GPRS only since last night around 10PM

no service in grassy park, wynberg or rondebosch for myself and the wife, since last night.

come on CELL C, whats happening?

No service in Bothasig since last night. No service all the way through to town. No service in Woodstock so far either. I've seen short periods of 'edge' but it doesn't work anyway. I'm going with the theory that this is the whole of CPT that is down.

In my case I have a cellphone with Virgin and a tablet with FNB, both of course technically using CellC's network.

Claremont, Lansdowne and Athlone have no data service. Occasionally voice service.

No service since 6am this morning in Athlone area and also at work in Mowbray.... To be fare there hasnt been issues like this on Cell C for a while but I am not condoning this at all but just pointing it out

You positive it was working before 6am?

I can't even dial 144 for voicemail. N1 City area.
I had full signal at the time, but shortly after that the signal disappeared completely.

I'm in Newlands, and I can't even open Google. Till now, it was working perfectly.

Eh, and this is my last month with Nashua Crapmobile. I was planning to change over to Cell C, due to cheaper data rates...

Maybe I should move over to Vodacom instead. :( Sigh...

ok, i've tried something thats got me connected again.

on android phone i went to "settings", "mobile networks" and ticked the "use only 2G networks" then restarted the phone and after about a minute got full bars and was able to make a call.

so it looks like using only 2G network will at least allow you to make calls.

let us know if it works for you guys as well please.

I don't even have that option under Mobile Networks. Running 4.1.2 on a S3 mini.

Switched my blackberry from 3G to 2G and 3G, restarted and now its roaming on vodacom.:mad::mad:

Cell C Down in Cape Town

Good Morning

Since this morning my phone says "Not Registered on Network". I have restarted my device and tried registering on Cell C with no luck. I registered on Vodacom (Roaming) so that I can at least be in touch.

Any problems in Cape Town? Possible timeline to implement a fix?

Regards,

William
