Google must make Android safer – our data is at risk

So what do you guys use on your Android devices for protection?

Nice article and completely true word for word. It would be even more helpfull if it pointed users to some very good anti-malware apps to check out on Google Play.

I am using AVG for Android and believe it is doing a good job thus far but whichever app you use please ensure to install the regular updates for it in order to keep newly discovered malware off your android device. :)

So when does the new iPhone 6 launch again?
Amazing how this kind of stuff comes up just before a big Apple launch

From the linked website.http://wmpoweruser.com/windows-phone-store-drowning-in-spam-web-apps/
Talking out of your ass aren't you?

He's not, actually - those are spam apps - it's an annoyance, not a danger. Both Apple and Google stores have the same problems, although Apple in particular has clamped down on spam. Both Google and Apple stores went through the spam apps growing pains as their platforms got traction, it's just Windows Phones' turn to get the crap sorted out now- they started the process last week with 1500 app deletions and have changed the submission requirements to minimize these apps in the future - http://www.itproportal.com/2014/08/28/windows-phone-store-removes-1500-scam-apps-clean-/

Google themselves collects all your personal data from your phone to sell adverts, I don't think they particularly care if anyone else does it.

Interesting to note that my Android tablet is the only mobile device with an antivirus installed (Avast) and it is the only device I do not have FNB's banking app installed on nor do I access online banking through it.

Maybe it is an irrational fear but I have this perception that iOS and WP is more "trustworthy". Help of an inconvenience at times since I use that tablet a lot.
